Your body will go through a lot of changes during pregnancy and it is important to keep taking care of yourself, just because you are pregnant does not mean that you should avoid all beauty and skin treatments altogether. However, you have to be careful what kind of products and ingredients you use, and it is important that you pay special attention to what different creams and lotions are made of, so that you do not use anything that could harm you and your baby.

It is vital that during pregnancy you stick to products designed for pregnant women so that you do not disrupt the natural hormonal balance in your body.

Go organic
If you were happy with your beauty products before, it does not mean that you should not check whether the ingredients are organic or not, unless the products come with certified organic ingredients, you should stay clear as it might seriously affect your baby’s development. If you are unsure whether you can use a product or not, it is always a good idea to consult with your obstetrician about what you can use and which products you should stay away from.

Stretch marks
Perhaps the biggest worry for any mommy after pregnancy is how to get rid of stretch marks; fortunately there are many natural remedies to remove stretch marks. It is vital to remember that you can also prevent stretch marks from forming, or help reduce them considerably during pregnancy. Drinking a lot of water for instance is a surefire way to reduce stretch marks, and it is great for your diet.

Furthermore, it is important that you take all the necessary vitamins and nutrients so that your baby grows healthily while in your tummy and that you will not have to worry about any permanent marks on your body after pregnancy. Use sunscreen
The good thing about sunscreen is that they rarely have ingredients which are harmful, but you will need to apply generous amounts of sunscreen in order to prevent dark skin spots; also regular sunscreen use will help you fight off wrinkles, especially around the eyes and the mouth.

Because your skin is more sensitive during pregnancy you will have to take extra care in protecting it and making sure that you do not suffer any permanent skin damage.

Spa treatments
Just because you are pregnant does not mean that you should not enjoy yourself from time to time, and going to the spa might be the best way to relax; however, you will have to be careful with peels and skincare products the spas use. It is better to inform which treatments and products you will get at the spa so that your obstetrician can give you the green light.

Skincare
You will have to be especially careful with your face during pregnancy because there will be a lot of hormonal changes and it will be most visible on your face. Using skincare products you will make sure that your skin is protected and moisturized without permanently damaging it. Moreover, these skincare products are certified and they will not have any harmful ingredients, so just relax and pamper yourself once in a while.

If you can’t imagine your day without makeup, make sure to use only quality ones. There are different types on the market so you need to take time and do some research on which makeup is the most suitable.

Read product labels and check if there is a presence of harmful substances like pararaben, methylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben or ethylparaben.

If you notice anything out of the ordinary and if you think it might be getting serious, it is better to visit a dermatologist so that you can get advice on what to do. Never try to apply creams and lotions before approval by your doctor.
